Nina Simone was not known as a hit maker but in a 6 month period between October ‘68 and February ‘69 she had four entries in the UK pop charts. This was due in no small part to an eight-day promotional trip to the UK, which culminated in a live concert recorded for London Weekend Television’s Sound of Soul at Wembley Studios. Side one of this LP contains six songs from the show that was broadcast on New York’s WNED TV station on March 9th 1969. A further four songs from her July 28th 1969 performance at Juan-LesPins Jazz Festival in Antibes are featured on side two
