Originally released in 1996, Warm Nights repositioned Robert’s standing as one of the great songwriters of the post-punk era. Robert recalls that producer Edwyn Collins “
got the [intended] sound of the album completely: a dry low-end groove pitched somewhere between Creedence Clearwater Revival and Willie Mitchell’s early ’70s Hi Records work.”
The 2024 reissue is something of a ‘Director’s Cut’ featuring a previously unreleased ‘brass’ version of ‘Fortress’ (the original album version is included on the bonus 7 of the vinyl package”) , 'Half The Way Home’ replaces ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Friend’ (also on the bonus 7’).
- The artwork for ‘Warm Nights’ has been lovingly revised by the original designer Leni Hoffman and includes new liner notes by Robert Forster.
- Remastered at Abbey Road Studios.
- The CD comes with 12-page colour booklet
